Fruitful

Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth. Genesis 8:17

Kidding started on Wednesday with Jubilee having twin does. She is an excellent mother.
In case your wondering why she has a PVC pipe taped to her head, it is to prevent her from getting her head stuck in the fence.

I did a pasture check just in time to find Joy had just given birth to a little doe. Just in the nick of time, kid number two was breech. She needed a little assistance.

Looking for the snack bar while mommy cleans.

Cleaning up her little buck.

Now thats where it is.

Thursday morning I awoke to another suprise. Jetta had twins: a buck and a doe.
Boy is she protective of her babies! If only some women had the instincts this goat has.

Two peas in a pod.

The little doe is on the left. This is the best picture of her, mommy would let me get.

And here is the little buck.

Three births down, two more to go.

Hello, Kimberley! I found you through Tasha's blog, and I'm so glad I did! You have a beautiful blog.

Kidding time is so exciting... we've bred milk goats for the last what? five years, and this is the first year we've taken a break. I miss the joy and excitement of new birth! Your kids are sooo sweet - I want to hug them:)

Also, PVC taped to horns is quite brilliant. I might have to try that, too!

Blessings,

Hi, Natasha and Kelly.
Thanks for being my first followers!
The PVC works great. It was some advice I received from an angora goat breeder. It works best if you use Gorilla tape, because they really go to work trying to rub it off at first. Also if you use it on a young animal with growing horns, you will need to remove it and re-tape it regularly. So the horns grow properly.
